In the office relocation and office moving business, you'll find two types of estimates:
- Non-binding Estimate which means your final price will be based on the actual amount of hours and materials used on the job.
- Binding Estimate which gives you a guaranteed price that won't exceed the amount quoted.
A non-binding estimate is beneficial if:
- You're not exactly sure of all the items you're moving
- Not sure if you'll be ready and might require additional packing help
- An elevator won't be available for exclusive use during the move
- Construction(on move day) or other impediments may slow the move progress
A binding estimate is preferable if:
- You want to guarantee your budget, or if you haven't moved often and aren't familiar with the moving process.
Three requirements must be met in order to receive a binding estimate:
